SPECIALIZING IN CUSTOM BUILDS

There’s no question that the oil and gas industry is a competitive one, so custom building a tube-coiling machine can really help a machining company stick out. Mike Dyke, co-owner of Damik Machine Ltd. In Westlock, Alta., considers that design the most involved and interesting custom project he’s ever made.

In 2000, Dyke and his father, Dave Dyke, joined their first names together and came up with the company name: Damik. They started producing agricultural equipment but have since focused on oil and gas. The company specializes in line automation, one-off production machinery rebuilds, and rebuilding and restoring production equipment. Damik can go into a production plant that is having issues on a certain part of the line and come up with a custom solution to solve the problem.

Damik manufactures parts from costumer’s sample parts, 2-D drawings, or full 3-D models. The company claims, “We have produced many fully functional prototype assemblies for customers. Three-D surfacing, in conjunction with 5-axis positioning, greatly enhances the accuracy of relative surfaces.” Once the prototypes are built, the products are molded or die-cast.
