While United Fabrication & Welding offers fabrication, painting, sandblasting and insulating, the company’s primary business is supplying oil companies with equipment and structural services, such as rails, catwalks and stairs for upgraders. Henry Neufeld, owner of United Fabrication & Welding, admits to handrails being his favourite thing to build. He laughs when he says, “That’s our favourite because usually whatever we make the most money with is our favourite, right?”

Six thousand of the 10,000 square foot facility is dedicated to indoor fabrication. That area houses a Steel Master Ironworker, Panel Break, drill presses and plasma cutters, as well as an overhead crane with up to 20 feet of hook height and a safe lifting capacity of 10 tons. The processes used include electrode, hardwire, metal-core, fluxcore and some specialty processes. The company holds a CWB class 2 certification. It also provides a turnkey service where the staff not only builds the project but sets it up on site as well.

As well, United Fabrication & Welding also has a 12 by 80 foot paint shop. The shop is equipped with an airless assist sprayer and can match any company’s colour scheme.

Occasionally used projects need to be repainted. Before they can be painted, the old paint has to be sandblasted off. United Fabrication & Welding has the capability of moving, handling and sandblasting items weighing up to 10 tons in the 1,500 square foot open sandblast area.

The company installs fiberglass, batting, sheeting, or wrap as part as part of the installation service. Installation can be handled in store (United Fabrication & Welding can transport the project for their customers) or use the accessible mobile unit.
